How To Make A Jamaican Smile

On a recent trip to Sandals South Coast, my decidedly "not a fruity drink guy" husband discovered the Jamaican Smile and loved it. He described it as a strawberry smoothie with rum. As I am, also, not a fruity drink person, I was pretty skeptical. I don't like overly sweet drinks. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! This drink is boozy and fruity, but not too sweet.


While there are many versions of this recipe, below is the one straight from Sandals.

Sandals Jamaican Smile

2.0 oz Appleton rum (or any dark rum)

1.5 oz piña colada mix

1.5 oz strawberry daiquiri mix

1.0 oz rum cream


Directions:

In a blender with ice, add half the rum and piña colada mix. Blend on high until smooth. Pour the mixture into a hurricane glass. Rinse the blender and then add ice, the remaining rum and strawberry daiquiri mix. Blend on high until smooth and pour into the hurricane glass. Float the rum cream on top of the mixture. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and enjoy!
